Don't be confused! This is the difference between Implora SPF 40 sunscreen and SPF 30.

Indonesian society living in a tropical climate with long exposure to sunlight every day. It is important to remember that sunlight can penetrate glass, so whether indoors or outdoors, it is mandatory to use Sunscreen products. The short-term effects of sunlight exposure are redness, peeling skin, and acne-prone skin. The trigger is damage to the skin barrier. Meanwhile, the long-term effects of intense exposure to sunlight on the skin are skin cancer.

Not long ago, Implora launched a Sunscreen product with SPF 30, namely Perfect Shield Gel Sunscreen SPF 30 PA+++ which complements the previous product, Perfect Shield Sunscreen SPF 40 PA++++. These two products can be a variety of Sunscreen choices according to the specific skin needs of each individual. Let's find out the differences between Implora Sunscreen SPF 40 and SPF 30 to determine which one suits you best!

SPF

SPF (Sun Protection Factor) is a standard for calculating how well a product can protect the skin from UVB rays. UVB rays have short wavelengths but higher energy. Intense exposure to UVB rays can make the skin look dull and feel burnt. Generally, SPF is followed by a number that indicates the level of protection of the product, for example, SPF 40 and SPF 30. SPF 30 can protect 97% of UVB rays, and the protection percentage will be higher with SPF 40. For those who are active outdoors, it is recommended to use SPF 40, while those more active indoors can use SPF 30.

PA Value

PA (Protection Grade of UVA Rays) is a standard for calculating how well a product can protect the skin from UVA rays. These rays have long wavelengths, but their energy is not higher than UVB rays that can penetrate the deepest layers of the skin. The long-term impact can trigger skin cancer. Usually, PA is followed by a "+" sign indicating the level of protection. So, the more "+" signs, the higher the level of protection the product provides for the skin. For people in tropical countries, at least 1 "+" sign is sufficient to protect the skin from sunlight exposure. Just like PA ++++ and PA +++ found in the two Implora Sunscreens.

Texture

Sunscreen SPF 40 has a creamy texture, while Sunscreen SPF 30 has a gel texture. Both of these Sunscreens are easy to blend into the skin without feeling sticky and quickly absorb into the skin. No need to worry about whitecast, as both Sunscreens will become transparent shortly after absorption.

Sunscreen Type

Another difference between Sunscreen SPF 40 and 30 is their type. Sunscreen SPF 40 is a hybrid Sunscreen that combines chemical and physical Sunscreen. Meanwhile, SPF 30 is a chemical Sunscreen. Both of these Sunscreens can be used for all skin types. You can adjust to the type of Sunscreen that suits your skin condition the most.
